Does MTV Change the Rules for Reality Shows? - Part II

Published by realfan under Entertainment Edit This

It is no secret that MTV has been accused in the past, of staging events for their reality shows. Past cast members have said, they were asked by the show’s producers to create disharmony and relate to viewers, their contempt for others in the “Real World” house. This formula seems to be standard fare today.

As in real life, certain people thrown into the mix, can create disharmony very quickly. It would seem at times, that producers will intentionally throw one or two individuals into a group that spells, intentional chaos.
In the present season of “Real World, Hollywood”, it took only a few minutes for us to understand why Greg was thrown into the house. Greg was tossed in to provide the explosive mixture. He also was the viewers choice for this seasons “Real World”.

This is a teaser clip from the intro

If you are up for this. This video is what Greg produced after his “Real World” experience.

Greg mumbles a lot in the video and towards the end, it shows him working out, etc.

MTV is certainly a force to be reckoned with. They are constantly adding new reality shows and spin offs from other reality shows in their stable. MTV is a big hit with the teens and younger adults; especially the males, with many of their “Jack Ass” ventures and clones. Are they intentionally pushing the reality envelope with each new season?
